Chiapas

Two weeks ago I went to Chiapas for Semana Santa.  For the first week I stayed in San Cristobal de las Casas in a hotel called KuKuRutz with my friends, the Henslys, the MacDonalds, and the Matchetts.  We had a lot of fun, playing in the yard, improving our top skills.  The spinning kind, not the top of a mountain.    We also ate many different foods including, but not limited to, subs, pizza, spaghetti, and baked goods.  Very good.  During the second to last night, the Hensleys and I watched the James Bond movie Goldfinger.  Then during the second week we split up and my family traveled all over Chiapas.  We probably spent about 18 hrs. in the car!  Luckily only 1 person vomited.  Unluckily that person was me!  We spent one night at Parador-Museo Santa Maria, one night at Cascadas Chiflon, two nights in Tuxtla Gutierrez, and probably more but I just can't remember. Bye for now!

The Saddest Day of my Life

Today was the saddest day of my life.  Today was the day when I found out about the unexpected death of my piano teacher Elena Shoemaker.  She died of liver disease.  She was a loving, caring teacher and a equally great friend.  I loved the way she chastised me when I got something wrong or was being too stubborn.  I wrote a eulogy for her below.  Elena Shoemaker
