My writing skills

This is the start to a short story that I wrote.  My parents said that it was spectacular, novel quality even.  So I decided to post it here.

Rewrite of History

1937:  Albert Einstein looked up to the stormy gray sky and wondered, not for the first time, if he should leave Berlin.  He was a dark haired man, of serious temperament, with blue twinkling eyes.  Yes or no? Yes or no?

"Indecision can be tormenting.", he mused.  He sat down and puts his head in his hands.  Finally he gets up.  He had decided.  No.  Unbeknownst to him or the milling, mindless, masses around him, it was a decision that would change the world forever.  It started to rain, first a mild drizzle, then moving up to a torrential downpour.  He pulled his coat tighter, and started off down the road to see his beloved Mary.
